Bangor Looking for Clean Sheet

Bangor City manager Peter Davenport wants his team to take the game to Latvian opponents FC Dinaburg in Sunday’s Intertoto Cup first-round first-leg tie at Rhyl’s Belle Vue.

"The important thing from our point of view is not to concede. Keeping a clean sheet is the main aim. Having said that, I've seen some videotapes of Dinaburg, and I think we can create chances in the game," Davenport said.

"We will play our normal system and see how Dinaburg cope. I'm not making any special plans. In the past in the UEFA Cup we've played a defensive system to cope with far superior teams, though I do think this side have a superior side to us on paper.

"But we're capable of getting through the first round. It's not beyond us if we do things properly and professionally.

"The lads are looking forward to it, we've got to set out our stall and if we can focus and concentrate we have every chance."

Bangor are looking to be only the second Welsh team to have won a game in Europe, with only former Welsh Premier League side Barry Town being able to say that at present.
