Bangor City yesterday crashed out of the Intertoto Cup at the first hurdle as they suffered a second-leg defeat against Latvian side Dinaburg.

The Citizens trailed 2-1 after the home leg and any hopes of a comeback were blown away by Deniss Sokolskis' 13th minute opener.

Defender Lee Atherton then had the misfortune of scoring an own goal 10 minutes after the break to seal the tie for the Latvians.

Dinaburg are in the middle of their domestic season in the Latvian league, and it showed, as they saw out the game without much of a struggle.

Owain Tudor-Jones come closest to scoring for
the away side when he hit a post.
