Welsh Premier League club Bangor City's plans for a 3,000-seater stadium on the banks of the Menai Straits have been withdrawn.

Ken Jones, club chairman said the proposals were causing too many objections, and the club have decided to revert to old plans for a 600 seater stadium following the opposition from residents for a proposals for a larger stadium on the banks of the Menai Straits.

Bangor received permission for a 600 seater stadium two years ago, but pushed forward for plans for a ground that would allow them to host European games.

Mr Jones said the club would now be sticking with plans for the 600-seater stadium, which also had 2,000 spaces for standing.
