Cockings Commits to Port Talbot

Robert Cockings has committed to Port Talbot next season ending speculation he might leave Victoria Road this summer.

Cockings joined the Steelmen in 1997 from local side Trefelin and is the only member of the team remaining from the club's Welsh League era making 130 appearances during his time at the club.

Club chairman Andrew Edwards said: "I am delighted that Robert has agreed terms for next season..


"He is a vital part of our side and a fantastic example to all our junior players coming through the ranks at the club."

During his time a the club Cockings has won the Welsh League Cup, achieved promotion to the Welsh Premier League, reached the Welsh Cup Semi Final and two League Cup Semi Finals as well as leading the side as captain for one season in the Welsh Premier League.
