Cwmbran Town have formed a Senior Management team to ensure the club can continue as they look to overcome the loss of sole benefactor and chairman John Colley to retirement.

The 58-year-old businessman however, will remain with the club on a consultancy basis until a new chairman and vice chairman can be appointed.

A six-strong SMT, plus a fund-raising expert, sat for the first time on Monday when current club treasurer Mike Lewis accepted the post of interim chairman.

"It was a robust and positive meeting which covered lots of ground," said Lewis.

"The most important matter which came out is that
Cwmbran Town
will carry on.

"There may have to be a slight tweaking of the finances, but we are fully committed to making sure this club remains in the Welsh Premier League."

The SMT will sit again next Monday with an AGM taking place in the Crows' clubhouse 24 hours later.
