Druids and Lido Relegated from Welsh Premier

NEWI Cefn Druids and Afan Lido have been relegated from the Welsh Premier League after suffering defeats on the final Saturday of the season.

Lido - recently lost points for fielding a banned player - finished bottom following a 2-1 loss at Welshpool, while a 3-0 defeat at runners-up Rhyl for the Druids saw them also lose their Premier League status.

However, the situation isn't concrete with factors yet determining whether the two teams will be relegated.

Druids could be saved if no club qualifies for promotion from the south Wales feeder league.

While the situation could also change if Lido win their appeal against the three docked league points.

If the FAW re-awards them the three points, Lido will finish outside the relegation places leaving them two points above the Druids and level with Airbus UK, but with a superior goal difference.
