Rafa Benitez is likely to field captain and talisman Steven Gerrard in the centre of midfield while new goalkeeper Jose Reina will make his first competitive start for the Reds.
The Spaniard has warned his side they must not take victory over the Welsh minnows for granted.
"This kind of game is always dangerous. We are favourites, but we have to be careful," he said.
"For them, it's their cup final. For us, the most important thing is to tell the players to be careful."
