Moran to Make Return

Banned Rhyl striker Andy Moran could make is first appearance since a seven-month drug ban in Tuesday's Welsh Premier League Cup semi-final against Port Talbot.

Following a positive test for nandrolone last season, Moran was banned from football until 28 February. To further his misery he missed out on the chance to play in the Champions League with Rhyl and also lost his Golden Boot award as the WPL’s top scorer for last year.

Moran is confirmed as being included in the 16-man squad for the second leg tie at home to Port Talbot, according to the Daily Post.

Throughout the ordeal, Rhyl and manager John Hulse have stood by Moran, and after an investigation the FAW agreed that Moran did not knowingly take the banned substance, however, the sanctions placed on him remained nonetheless.

Despite all the problems, Moran’s contract was extended until 2007 to show how much he meant to the north Wales club.

Speaking about his time on the sidelines Moran said:

"I've been training hard for the last eight weeks and I'm raring to go," he said.

"I kept my distance and didn't attend games for a couple of months but I finally realised there was no point in beating myself up about what had happened.

"I was also helped by the fact that those closest to me know what I'm like and that what happened was not a deliberate act on my part.

"I can go out and play with my head held high and knowing that everyone at Rhyl has stood by me."
