Powell Testimonial Venue Changes

Connah's Quay Nomads boss Nev Powell has been forced to switch his July testimonial match against Tranmere Rovers to Flint's Cae-y-Castell ground due to athletics training at the Deeside Stadium on July 13.

Powell made 86 league appearances as a midfielder and scored on his debut as a 17-year-old for Rovers.

Powell was understandably disappointed by the move.

He said: 'It's very upsetting that we won't be playing Tranmere on our own ground. Quite a few dignitaries had already been invited.

'However, Flint's pitch is a superb playing surface and I'm very grateful to them for allowing me to hold the game in Flint on the same date.

'They are working hard to get the pitch ready in time.'
