Rhyl Claim UEFA Cup Spot (subject to Licence)

Rhyl claimed a spot in next season's Uefa Cup as runners-up in the WPL with a 1-0 win at Cwmbran, with Andy Moran clinching the win just five minutes from time.

The game was a bad tempered affair, which at one point saw a 21-man melée, with Gareth Wilson and Kris Thomas sent off for Cwmbran.

Rhyl, last week, were refused a licence to compete in UEFA club competitions. Bangor were also refused a licence.

Rhyl can appeal to the FA of Wales Appeals Body to reverse the decision, and will learn their fate on 17 May.

Should they fail to obtain a licence the next best placed team should take up the place.

Bangor City, expected to finish third, could also miss out on a place which could open the door for Welshpool Town, Caersws and Aberystwyth Town should the Gwynedd club also miss out on appeal.
