Neil Ardley is targeting a permanent deal at Championship side Cardiff City.

The 32-year old joined the club from Watford in March, but having been involved in helping the south Wales club with their battle against relegation including scoring the vital goal to earn a pint at Leicester last week and setting up the goal that sealed a 2-0 win against Reading yesterday he wants to stay.

"Even though we are playing in a relegation scrap I would love to stay at the club," said Adrley.

"At the moment it's not something I can think about because there are other things to be taken care of first both on the pitch and financially. But once they've been resolved I would love to sit down and put pen to paper.

"If I can do that then hopefully I'll be here this time next year talking about the play-offs."
