Blades Chasing Cardiff Players

Sheffield United are set to up their interest in a number of Cardiff City players with striker Peter Thorne heading their wanted list.

Blades boss Neil Warnock has made enquiries about Thorne, Alan Lee and Cameron Jerome, but the South Wales Echo have revealed that Warnock is also after James Collins.

United are preparing for promotion to the Premiership, with the belief they can do it this season, and Warnock is prepared to splash the cash to ensure they reach the heights of English football.

Warnock has £1m to spend this summer, earmarked for Heidur Helguson of Watford but he left for Fulham last week meaning the Blades boss must now turn his attentions elsewhere.

Warnock has made several enquiries about Thorne last season and it can only be a matter of time before an official bid comes in.

Warnock has also been linked with Alan Lee and could snap up both Lee and Thorne for less than his budget.
