Cardiff City are believed to be after West Bromwich Albion striker Geoff Horsfield.

Daves Jones is one of five managers chasing the 31-year old who scored the goal to keep the Baggies in the Premiership last season.

With Bryan Robson in the market for a new striker, Horsfield could leave the West Midlands club this summer.

Robson, who seems set to offload his strikers, having tried to offer Rob Earnshaw to Crystal Palace.

Relegated Premiership teams Palace and Southampton are believed to be interested in Horsfield with the clubs expected to lose their influential forwards Andy Johnson and Peter Crouch respectively.

Championship play-off losers Preston are also believed to be interested in Horsfield, with Cardiff the outsiders to land their target with the player’s wage demands far too high for the Bluebird’s wage bill.
