Aston Villa and Wales defender Mark Delaney would love it if his international team-mate Craig Bellamy were to join him at the Midlands club.
The former Cardiff City defender said: "I feel that Villa can go places if we can get a few new faces in to go with the youngsters..
"Craig could give us that boost. He's got the quality to score and create, but lots of clubs will want him."
Villa earlier this week claimed to have a deal agreed for Bellamy, however, Newcastle have said chairman Doug Ellis is lying.
Celtic, Birmingham City, Everton and Blackburn Rovers are also chasing Newcastle United's player of the year who is on loan at Celtic until the summer.
