Fixtures Announced for New Season

Cardiff City will face a tough away tie in the opening game of the 2005/06 season, with Dave Jones’ side facing a trip to Portman Road to take on Ipswich on Saturday August 6.

Ipswich finished 3rd last season in the Championship and lost to West Ham in the play-offs.


There second game of the season will see deputy chairman Peter Risdale come up against his former club Leeds United at
Ninian Park on Tuesday August 9.

Swansea City's first competitive match at their new 20,000-seater stadium in League One will be against Tranmere, who finished in the play-offs.

After their first comeptitive game at their new stadium, Swansea will have two successive away games against Colchester United on August 9 and Huddersfield Town August 13.

But relegated Wrexham will be confident of beginning with a win in League Two after drawing Boston United.

The Pilgrims finished 16th last season, losingto Swansea home and away.
