League One side Wrexham, still languishing in the relegation zone extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 5 with an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Bescot Stadium on Saturday despite twice taking the lead.

In an entertaning first half Wrexham captain Darren Ferguson opened the scoring on twelve minutes from 25 yards following Andy Holt's left-wing cross before Whack pulled one back for Walsall from the edge of the penalty area less than ten minutes later.

Wrexham restored their lead again soon after from a well worked move as Mark Jones set up Chris Llewellyn to fire in his ninth goal of the season, making him the club's top league scorer this year.

Jorge Leitao rose above Stephen Roberts to head in Mark Wright's cross for Walsall's second, before Llewellyn headed wide and Saddlers player-boss Paul Merson missed an open goal from close range.

Meanwhile, at The Vetch on Friday night League Two promotion rivals Swansea and Southend ended all square on a bitterly cold night in south Wales.

In form Swansea striker Lee Trundle grabbed the lead for the Welsh team on 55 minutes, firing home from six yards.

Swansea's lead was shortlived as Southend struck back within four minutes - Mark Bentley's long pass sending Wayne Gray clear to score.

As both teams looked for a winner Southend had two good efforts on goal but Swansea goalkeeper Willie Gueret kept out two good strikes from Mark Bentley.

The 1-1 draw was enough to lift Swansea level on points with Yeovil at the top of the table, however Yeovil stay top on goal difference and also have a game at Macclesfield on Saturday.

Today at Upton Park Cardiff lost 1-0 to West Ham as their resurgence that saw manager Lennie Lawrence win Manager of the Month for January ended.

Cardiff began brightly, with Peter Thorne firing straight at Hammers keeper Stephen Bywater.

However, West Ham eventually found their feet, and begin to attack the Cardiff defence.

In dramatic fashion, with the game heading for a deserved draw, West Ham's Carl Fletcher got the winner in the 89th minute as he pounced to head home Chris Powell's cross.
