Wrexham midfielder Mark Jones made the most of the week-long summer training camp organised by Wales boss John Toshack to showcase his potential after injuries earlier in the season prevented him taking part in the U-21 games.

Before the trip he said: "It was a shock to be called up but its nice to be here.

"I'm just going to enjoy it and try to impress the coaching staff and the manager."

Jones also revealed he will accept a new two-year deal at Wrexham, even though the club have been relegated to League Two.

"I've lived my whole life in the area so I don't want to go anywhere else and I've enjoyed every minute of my time with Wrexham," he added.

"But next season I want to hold down a regular place in the team and be more consistent in terms of my performance.

"I only played in patches last year and I've got to do better. I'm quite confident about our chances next season because every time we've played teams in League Two we've dominated the games, even though on occasions we failed to score the goals necessary to win the games.

"I think we can bounce straight back up next season."
