Lawrence Worried Over Relegation Prospect

Cardiff boss Lennie Lawrence has today revealed that his side may fail to recover from relegation to League One, should they go down this season.

"I'm convinced it won't happen, but it would be catastrophe for us to go down - it could take 10 years to recover from a blow like that," said Lawrence.

"It's a battle for sure. Five or six clubs, including us, are down there and it's a race to get four more points.

"That should be enough to pull us away from that third relegation spot."

With just 5 matches remaining Cardiff currently sit one point above the drop zone following a disappointing 2-0 defeat to WiganAthletic on Saturday.

Cardiff's next opponents are Preston North End, who are looking at promotion this season, and Cardiff will do well to take points from the game as they battle to save their Championship future.
