Risdale Takes Over Running of Cardiff

Former Leeds United chairman Peter Ridsdale plans to provide the framework to turn financially struggling Cardiff City into a major Championship side.

Risdale has taken over the day-to-day running of the club as they look to slash the debt accrued and build for the future including the development of a new stadium for the club.

Ridsdale has a long-term deal at the club, with current chief executive David Temme stepping aside to spend more time on the club's proposed new stadium at Leckwith which has been in doubt in recent months.

With the club around £30m in debt and no movement as yet on the new stadium, it is hoped Ridsdale will be the man to turn things around.

When Ridsdale joined the Bluebirds two months ago, Hammam said, "At Cardiff he has a very wide and far reaching brief and I believe that he is the perfect person for the job."
