Speaking after his side's 2-0 win over Port Vale this evening, delighted Wrexham boss Denis Smith said: We deserved the win and it keeps us alive.
“It was a good all round performance and the midfield worked hard, particularly Matty Crowell. The front also looked like scoring which was very pleasing.
“I didn’t think 2-0 was a scoreline that flattered us at all.
“Having been nice to the players at half-time on Saturday, I was not so nice to them tonight!”

”The goalkeeper once again was quality and is very important to us at the moment,” added Smith.
“It was good to see Holtie scoring again but we also expect goals from Carlos Edwards who is flying past defenders at the moment, but I’m surprised that he hasn’t scored since returning to the side.
“We are waiting for the next important one now, we’ve got to win the remaining three games. Saturday is the quarter final if you like and if the other sides who are fighting to stay up don’t get the result that they need, it’s going to be an interesting last week.”
