Swansea Accept Robinson Red

Swansea City will not appeal Andy Robinson's red card for violent conduct in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Bristol Rovers.

It was the second time this season Robinson has been sent off for a head-butt, but the midfielder has pleaded innocence over the incident.

Subsequently, Robinson will be banned for four matches, ruling him out of the League Two play-offs if Swansea fail to land automatic promotion.

"Andy was wrong for putting himself in that position," said manager Kenny Jackett.

"As you build up a reputation, people will target you and think they can wind you up easily."

Robinson has had a turbulent season at the Vetch, casting doubts over any long-term future with the club.

He was given a three-match ban in November for a dismissal for violent conduct at Shrewsbury.

While in February, Robinson was warned about future conduct after being found guilty of a public order offence by Swansea magistrates over a nightclub disturbance.

Robinson has caused problems for Swansea this season with his temperament a problem for Kenny Jackett.

"There's only one person going to break that cycle and that's him," added Jackett.

Swansea are currently just outside an automatic promotion place in League Two as the season draws to a close.
