Swansea Contest Trundle Red Card

Swansea City will contest leading goalscorer Lee Trundle's sending off in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Rochdale.

Trundle was shown the red card for a two-footed tackle on Jamie Clarke in the League Two game at the Vetch.

Trundle now faces a three match ban which could all but end the Swans hope of promotion if they face three games without their prolific marksman.

Englishman Trundle insists he won the ball with a one-footed challenge, verified by a Rochdale player, and has subsequently called on referee Trevor Parkes to rescind his decision.

Speaking earlier today Trundle said: "It was ridiculous, really, because it wasn't even a two-footed challenge and one of their lads said as much to me straight after the referee pulled out the red card.

"We've asked the referee to have a look at the video and hopefully he will now reconsider in the next day or two."
