Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett is close to agreeing a new contract with the League One side, while his assistant Kevin Nugent has already signed a new one-year deal to take him through to summer 2006.

Jackett joined Swansea from QPR on a two-year deal in 2004, and, having secured promotion from League Two this season, is set to stay longer in south Wales.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: "Kenny and Kevin have worked very well together."

"Kenny is very happy with how things have gone and so are we."

Swansea begin life in their new stadium at Morfa in July against Fulham and Blackburn Rovers as they prepare for their Coca Cola League One debut in August.
