Trundle Hopeful of International Call

Swansea City striker Lee Trundle remains keen to gain international recognition with the Republic of Ireland.

Birkenhead-born Trundle's has scored consistently in League Two with both Swansea last season, and Wrexham a few years ago and his 'showboating' ois often featured on Sky Sports' Soccer AM show throughout the past two seasons

Trundle is now linked with Championship sides Hull, Leicester, Southampton among others and he remains hopeful of earning a call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad.

However, Ireland
boss Brian Kerr is still seemingly unconvinced, with Trundle plying his trade at the lowest level of the Football League, however, that situation may change if Trundle is playing at a higher level than League Two.

"But hopefully now we've won promotion and I'm scoring goals in League One, then he will have a serious look at me," Trundle said.

"If you're a natural goalscorer who scores goals then you'd be worth taking a chance on. I'm still hopeful of getting a call-up at some point."
