Yeovil May Give Up on Holt

Yeovil boss Gary Johnson has claimed he will look elsewhere for a new striker unless League Two side Rochdale reconsider his offer for Grant Holt.

Carlisle-born Holt, is one of the hottest properties in League Two after firing in 24 goals last season and has been a target for the Somerset club and Swansea City, however, both clubs have had bids rejected as Steve Parkin tries to keep his biggest asset at Spotdale.

Johnson told the Western Gazette: "We did make a substantial offer which was rejected. Unless
Rochdale reconsider that offer we will turn our sights to other targets."

Despite Yeovil's "substantial" bid, it is believed that fellow League One side Swansea have offered more for the 24-year old, which was also rejected.
