More than 1.8m fans have been to games at the stadium since 2001, the year football swapped Wembley for Cardiff.

An estimated £100m has been brought into the Welsh economy.

There has been a 30% increase in the number of hotels, 25% rise in stores, 35% in bars and 20% in restaurants in Cardiff since 2001.

A sell-out match produces an estimated 59 tonnes of rubbish - equivalent to 146 football pitches.

At last year's FA Cup final it was estimated that the 73,000 supporters of Manchester United and Millwall consumed 370,000 pints of beer and lager, 38,000 pasties, 27,000 sandwiches, 24,000 portions of chips and 13,000 beef burgers.

Policing costs for last year's FA Cup final were in the region of £650,000, with around 1,000 officers on duty that day.

An estimated global audience of more than 600m watched this year's FA Cup final between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium.

Two Welsh clubs have played at the stadium since the games were moved from Wembley. In 2003 Cardiff City won the Division Two play-off final, while this year Wrexham won the LDV Vans Trophy.

Each major final attracts more than 100,000 visitors to Cardiff and one in 10 people who attend an event at the stadium have returned to the city for a short break.

The two Semi-Finals at the Millennium Stadium in April drew an audience of 121,357 - the third highest in the last 30 years. The two higher figures (1993 and 2000) were on occasions when both ties were played at Wembley.
