Carmarthen Aim for Cup Treble

Carmarthen Town are on course for a cup hat-trick after reaching the Welsh Cup final with an easy win over Haverfordwest County at Stebonheath Park.

Having already secured final spots in the League Cup and West Wales Cups Saturday's win in Llanelli secured a second Welsh Cup final place for Mark Jones' side.

Jones said, "It's tremendous for a club that has suffered bad times recently and I'm absolutely delighted.

"It was thoroughly deserved. We dominated 80 per cent of the game and the winning goal by Kevin Ahearne-Evans would not have been out of place at Anfield."

Carmarthen's goal came in the 67th minute - Luke Hardy's arrowlike corner finding the Aherne-Evans' whose flick on redirected the ball into the back of Lee Kendall's net.

Carmarthen were in control for much of the game forcing several saves from Kendall throughout the game.

Haverfordwest player-manager Deryn Brace had no complaints
about his side's defeat.

"I've got no qualms about the result. I want to give Carmarthen credit as they were by far the better side and dominated us.

"It was men against boys and it hurts me to say that as I'm always a great advocate for my players, but we were very poor today."
