TNS boss: Welsh Cup final should be held in England

TNS manager Ken McKenna has criticised the choice of venue for this season's Welsh Cup final, outrageously suggesting it should have been played in England instead.

The Welsh Premier champions meet Carmarthen Town in Sunday's final at Llanelli's Stebonheath Park.

McKenna blasted organisers saying: "Why should our fans have to travel three hours when Carmarthen fans travel only 20 minutes?

"It should be somewhere central. If they can't find a club in Wales, there are enough grounds in England for it."

He added: "There's Kidderminster, West Brom, Villa, Birmingham, Walsall, Telford.

"There are 15 grounds all capable and one of them would do it. I think that's the fairest way.

"I know it's a nice little set-up down in Llanelli, but geographically I don't think it's fair we should travel down there.

"It's got to be at a venue that is accessible to both sets of supporters. We've got a lot of young kids who watch us who've got school Monday morning.

"We've also got a lot of old people who watch us and it's a hard journey for them."

TNS are favourites to add the Welsh Cup to their Welsh Premier League on Sunday, having beaten the West Wales side in both league meetings this season.
