Welsh Premier League leaders TNS came from a goal behind to beat Welsh Premier champions Rhyl and safeguard their place in the FAW Premier Cup semi-finals.

TNS found themselves a goal down at half time through an own goal from captain John Leah from a Rhyl corner kick.

In search of a goal in the second half defender Steve Evans equalised with a low drive and as they pile don the pressure to grab a winner striker Jamie Wood was on hand to make it two.

With the end and a victory for TNS looming, a Rhyl attack almost ended in a goal with Peter Smith slicing the ball wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Meanwhile, English League Two outfit Swansea City avoided another embarrassing repeat of last season's defeat by Welsh Premier side Rhyl by brushing aside Caernarfon at the Oval.

The Swans needed just 40 seconds to get their account open when Chad Bond stunned the home side on a cold night in North Wales.

Mark Hobson headed past his own ‘keeper for Swansea’s and Mark Pritchard added a third to ensure a place in the Semis before the half time whistle.

Caernafon failed to start the second half well also as Ijah Anderson struck just five minutes after the break to kill any hopes they may have had of a spectacular comeback.

Looking cold, and clearly dejected Caernarfon conceded a fifth with Pritchard hitting his second of the game cement Swansea’s progression.

The Semi-Finalists are holders Wrexham, Swansea, TNS and Bangor who knocked out Cardiff on Tuesday night, who battle it out to win a place in the final for the chance to win the Premier Cup and a much needed cheque of £100,000.
