"I was hungry for the challenge of playing in English football, particularly for Cardiff City," he said. "They are a Welsh club who have great ambition. They play football the way I like to play.
"But it didn't work out for me and I am now playing in Germany.
"This time, though, I am playing for my country and I will do everything possible to shine against Wales tomorrow."
