Coleman was set to face the media on Friday to reveal his selection ahead of a game which could well prove to be his last in charge of his country - and his role was certain to be among the topics.
A Football Association of Wales spokesman said the decision not to hold a press conference was taken on the grounds that the squad announcement would be completely overshadowed by questions about Coleman's future and continuing links with Crystal Palace.
"We have discussed it with Chris and we have decided to release the squad by email because it would be a worthless exercise holding a press conference when all the questions will be about Chris' contract and Crystal Palace," the spokesman told Press Association Sport.
"We are not hiding anything. Chris will be in Cardiff on Friday."
Talks over a two-year contract extension with Football of Wales chiefs have stalled and Coleman admitted last month a final decision over whether he would continue to lead the Dragons was likely to be taken after meeting the Finns at Cardiff City Stadium on November 16.
However, Coleman has been heavily linked with the managerial vacancy at Crystal Palace, and is among the favourites to replace Ian Holloway, although the FAW has previously stated there has been no approach for his services.
Coleman was dealt a further blow on Wednesday when former Wales striker John Hartson opted to stand down from his backroom staff, citing work and family commitments.
Coleman revealed last month the FAW had asked him to consider changing his coaching staff, something he was stubbornly opposed to.
''I have enjoyed every moment of my time with Wales. Everyone knows how passionate I am about my country,'' said Hartson.
''The work I now do as a pundit for the BBC is taking up more and more of my time.
''With another child on the way I need to spend some time with my growing family. I have learnt a lot working with Chris, Kit (Symons) and Osian (Roberts).
''I wish them and the players all the best for the future and really hope they qualify for the UEFA European Championships in 2016.''
