Carlos Tevez scored the only goal to keep West Ham in the top flight. Sheff Utd ended up being relegated.

Collins played in the last 9 matches of West Ham's season where they incredibly won 7 of those games including wins over Arsenal, Everton and Many Utd to stay in the Premier League.

He will go into Wales' upcoming matches against New Zealand and the Czech Republic in a confident frame of mind.

Collins's West Ham and Wales team mate Danny Gabbidon (who missed the run in through injury) said of "Ginge"

"It'll be hard to take the shirt off him.

"We've great competition for places here at West Ham especially at centre-back where we've half-a-dozen top players.

"James has taken his chance brilliantly and it's up to me and the rest of the lads to force our way back into the team.

"We've been mates since our Cardiff City days and I have to admit it would be great to play alongside him at club level next season when I'm fit."
