Sunderland and Wales defender Danny Collins has been sent back to his club after coming down with a fever whilst in the squad over the weekend.

The former Chester and Buckley Town player would not have been in contention to play against Austria, so the decision was made to send him home..

Having learned that he does not have glandular fever, Collins is now on a course of antibiotics administered by his club doctors.
