Easter delivers as Wycombe hold Chelsea

After hearing in the last few days that John Toshack is thinking of a possible call up to the National squad, Jermain Easter has scored again for Wycombe but this time it was to deny Chelsea a win at Adams Park.

Easter has now scored in every round of the Carling Cup this season and in total has scored 19 goals in 27 games, inc goals against Premiership teams Charlton, Fulham and Chelsea.

"I did consider quitting football" admitted Easter, after Hartlepool loaned into the non league. "The players at that level kicked you, whether the ball was around or not. I wouldn't even call it football.

"I was miles away from home and lonely. I didn't have anyone around me. When I was playing there in the freezing cold I would never have expected to be playing Chelsea in a couple of years, or having people talk about me possibly earning a Wales call.

"But things have just gone superbly for me this season and, having scored against Charlton and Fulham, I'd like to think I've proved to a few people I can score against Premiership teams.
