Wrexham LDV Vans hero Ben Foster has today said he would love to return to the club next year if his chances at Stoke City do not increase.

Foster, who is cover for the injured Andy Dibble, has been impressive during his time at the north Wales club, having previously only started a handful of first team games, and has been solid throughout Wrexham’s successful LDV Vans Trophy campaign, culminating in a 2-0 win over Southend United at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday.

"I've got another season left on my Stoke contract, but if I'm still third choice I'd love to come back," he said.

"To go from being sidelined at Stoke to winning a trophy in front of 40,000 fans at the Millennium Stadium is bizarre, but that's football for you!"

Foster added that the team were delighted to be able to give the fans a day to remember, after the difficult times they have endured this season.

"They've been through so much this season and it's just massive for them," he said.

"It was the biggest day of most players' career and we were all up for it.

"There was an awesome atmosphere and now we can just savour it all."
