Despite returning to training this week, following a hamstring injury, Wales international Ryan Giggs will not play a part in Manchester United's FA Cup semi-final against Newcastle United on Sunday.
Giggs's appearance at the Carrington training ground surprised
Speaking to Sky Sports News today, Ferguson said: "Absolutely, I'm shocked. All of a sudden, he came in and said he felt a bit better.
"I said let's go and try it but we won't be including him on Sunday.
"There's a lot of incentives but you've got to be realistic. A hamstring is a hamstring.
Ryan Giggs scored a wonder goal in the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal six years ago as Manchester United went on to win the cup following their win in extra time at Villa Park.
