Ryan Giggs has begun talking to Manchester United about an extension to his contract, which expires at the end of this season.

Giggs is seeking an extra two years, although, the club's policy to only offer one year for players over 30.

Giggs' advisor Harry Swales told the media: "There was some progress but we still need to sort one or two things out before we get an agreement.

"The situation on Ryan's future remains the same. He wants to stay and the club want to keep him. There are just a couple of issues to resolve."

Welsh winger Giggs is already a Manchester United legend, and there is no doubt about his commitment to the club as he chases down Sir Bobby Charlton’s appearance record.
