Giggs to Begin Contract Talks

Wales winger Ryan Giggs is set to begin contract talks with his club Manchester United next week.

Giggs’ current deal expires at the end of the season, and is likely to chase a two-year extension, however, United, have a policy of offering only one-year deals to players to over 30s and would have to break that policy for the first time to hand Giggs anything more than a one-year extension.

Giggs has played 629 times for his club in 14 years, putting him third on the all-time list. He does not want to leave Manchester United so it is up to the United board to see sense and commit to what Giggs wants as he enters his final few seasons as a player.
