Wales striker John Hartson fired Celtic back to the top of the SPL in a hard-fought win over Aberdeen at Celtic Park today.
With Rangers’ win yesterday sending the Ibrox side one point clear of their Old Firm rivals in the title race Celtic needed a victory to ensure they regained pole position with the season drawing to a close.
Hartson, winner of two awards recently for his goalscoring exploits this season in the SPL, continued his run of goals scoring two second half goals to seal victory for Martin O’Neill’s side.
The Wales international connected with Alan Thompson's free kick to squeeze the ball into the net past keeper Ryan Esson and defender Andrew Considine for his first before converting a Chris Sutton cross just 20 minutes from time for his 30th goal of the season.
