The West Ham defender was forced to sit out Saturdays 2-0 defeat to England after aggravating a troublesome calf injury during the warm up at Old Trafford and it has been confirmed that the 35-year-old centre back will not have recovered in time for the clash with Poland in Cardiff on Wednesday night.
