TNS owner Mike Harris wants Liverpool and Wales legend Ian Rush to come out of retirement for the Welsh Premier League champions' Champions League 1st Round Qualifiers against Champions League holders Liverpool.
Rush is a good friend of TNS managing director Mike Harris and has helped out with TNS in the past on big occasions for the Llansantffraid side.
However, Rush has said he is unlikely to come out of retirement and play for TNS against Liverpool.
The 43-year old said: "Mike is a good friend of mine and I will be meeting with him next week for a chat.
"But I do not think I will be coming out of retirement."
Rush opened TNS' 500-seater stand at Treflan four years ago and also coached their strikers before their UEFA Cup tie against
Rush, maintained, that he would like to help TNS if he can.
"I will see how serious Mike is," he added.
"I'd do anything to help them.
"I still play quite a bit and have a couple of games in
"I keep myself fit but playing against the European champions is a bit different."
Harris - who is plotting to take TNS to Goodison Park for their "home" tie against Liverpool - is keen for Rush to be involved.
And he said of Rush: "I'm sure we'll be talking soon and when we do I'll ask him to put his boots back on.
"The sight of Ian Rush on the bench against his former club would give the side a massive lift."
