The Blackburn Rovers player who has been capped 38 times for his country has decided to call it a day so he can concentrate on his club career with the Premiership side.
Speaking earlier Savage said: "I feel the time is right, I want to spend more time with my young family and concentrate fully on my career with Blackburn Rovers."
With many former internationals having their say on the real reasons why Savage may have quit, speculating on the much publicised comments by Savage on Toshack’s appointment, all we can say is thank you to Robbie for his service to his country and wish him all the best with his career in domestic football and hope things go well for him in his private life as well, especially after the reported family problems which led to his transfer to Blackburn Rovers from Birmingham City earlier in the season.
