Speed Says No to Retirement U-Turn

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Gary Speed says he is unlikely to reverse his decision last October to retire from international football.
"I loved playing for Wales and loved captaining Wales. Last week it was very difficult watching their games, I felt like I should be there." Speed said.
"It was the biggest decision of my career to stop playing for Wales.
"However, these decisions aren't taken lightly and it's one that I'm probably going to stand by."
Speed walked away from the international game last October, having won 85 caps for Wales after World Cup Qualifier defeats against England and Poland, but rumours have been circulating that the former Newcastle and Everton man might return to the international frey if he was wanted by the current management.
It is common knowledge that Toshack and his team have said there was "two or three other players we'd like back".
At the moment however, it seems likely that Gary Speed will not be returning to the Wales squad.
