Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that Swansea City goalkeeper Willy Gueret has been arrested following celebrations at the end of his side's victory over Bury at Gigg Lane.

Gueret was marched away after celebrating Swansea's promotion to League One and remains in custody for the moment, overshadowing the Welsh side's final day promotion.

The club have confirmed that Gueret was arrested for standing on the glass roof of the Bury dug-out as his team mates joined in him in celebration with bottles of champagne.

They and fans alike were amazed to see Gueret being led away in handcuffs, before unfortunate crowd trouble ensued.

Swansea may now launch a complaint following Gueret's arrest.

More details to come when they are available.
