Wales manager John Toshack is reported to want a friendly match to be played at the Millennium Stadium on St David's Day next year.
Possible opponents are Euro 2004 finalists Portugal with Toshack wanting to attract a big name to the capital.
Tosh is also wanting to set up three friendlies in the space of 10 days over the summer with Wales not involved in the World Cup in Germany next summer.
