And John Toshack is very happy to have him onboard.
"We're looking forward very much to having Freddy with us," said Toshack.
"He got the move a lot of people had anticipated in the summer to, with all respect to Southend, a bigger club and we want to get him with us now as soon as possible. What Freddy will give us is options up front, something which has been limited for us for quite a while."
