Toshack ready to face the Germans

Wales' chances of qualification are slim at best and anything other than a win over Germany will end the faint hope Wales have. Boss John Toshack though thinks his team are confident going into the Euro 2008 double header.

"Germany are always the team to beat when it comes to European competition, they are always a tough opponent," said Toshack. "They have started this qualifying campaign at a cracking pace and are virtually in the finals in Austria and Switzerland already.

"During the World Cup at home under Jurgen Klinsmann they played enterprising, attacking football that people might not associate with German teams of the past. They have now carried that on under current coach Joachim Low.

"But from our point of view this game could not have come at a better time. We have had good performances against the Czechs and in Bulgaria which has given us some confidence.

"Perhaps the Germans will also be a bit relaxed feeling that they have already qualified.

"We hope our players can go out there and enjoy themselves and we can give our best and carry on where we left off in the last two games.

"It is a wonderful opportunity for us against a very good side to show what we are capable of.

"It looks like we will be going into it at full-strength depending what happens in training over the week which is a good situation for us."
