The Welsh lads failed to make it to the next stage of the Uefa U21 championships after being held to a goalless draw at Ninian Park.

The lads lost their opening game against Israel and were always going to be up against it. A win at the very least was required to have any chance of progress.

Bryan Flynn was encouraged by his players

"I'm very encouraged by this U21 squad," said Flynn.

"The report to John Toshack will be very positive. We've had a good year in terms of players progressing to the senior side, and I'm hopeful that will continue."

The U21's will now play friendly matches on European dates.
