Wales 1 - 2 Georgia

Jason Koumas had given Wales the lead when his 25 yard shot was comically turned into the net by the Gorgian keeper. Further chances fell to Wales with the returning Paul Parry adding pace to the attack.

But Wales conceeded on 66 mins when Levan Kenia beat the offside trap to level the scores. In the second half the Georgians looked far the better side. Robert Earnshaw came on and helped to create some late half chances but then right at the death a mix up between Ashley Williams and Boaz Myhill allowed Gotsiridze to nip in and head home the winner.

"The goals we conceded were shocking, particularly the second," boss John Toshack said.

"You've got indecision there, that the the player (Gotsiridze) should be allowed to nip in and score was schoolboy stuff."

"I was quite pleased at half-time, thought maybe we deserved a goal more, but the second half was a completely different story," Toshack added.

"We looked to be in trouble right from the off and you could almost see it coming.
