Wales have now gone four games without defeat and must be looking forward to their October World Cup qualifier clash with England. This was also their third clean sheet in a row.

The victory over Canada, at Wrexham, was secured with a 21st minute headed goal by Paul Parry, the Cardiff player.

This was only Parry’s third start for Wales and the game and goal marked the end of a dream season for the 23 year-old midfielder who started the 2003/04 campaign with Hereford.

With Ryan Giggs returning to the side and combining well with Craig Bellamy Wales could well have won by more than one goal.

Villa’s Mark Delaney kept the captain’s armband for the game.
